I have set them in 9k yellow gold on a sterling silver back plate with sterling silver earring posts and golden balls.

I hand cut and polish my Opals. Please be aware that Opals have natural pits and markings. They are as nature intended, I have only cut, shaped and polished, I have not even tried to remove any imperfections.
