Being a Lapidary as well as a jeweller allows me to offer you hand cut Opals. Please be aware that these Opals may have natural pits and markings. They are as nature intended I have only cut, shaped and polished, I have not even tried to remove any imperfections… if you could even call them that.
**Please allow 2-3 weeks for this to be made thank you. If you need this quickly please let me know.
There is nothing on this earth to rival an Australian Opal. Be it Solid, Boulder. And as you can see I am completely besotted. Their colours are cosmic each one a masterpiece and a landscape so very easy to get lost in. It's incredible really when you think about it. Such spectacular colours born in darkness in the cracks and rocks and never seen until some hard working miner uncovers the secrets. And the time it takes for nature to create these wonders? A mere 5-6 million years for a 1cm piece. So it is so important to at the very least, try and do the Opals I am lucky enough to have in my possession, justice.
If you are like me and see the beauty in natures gifts then you will not be disappointed.
If you've never had a little bit of Australia how better to start than with a collectable piece. Or you may be in love with Opals like me and can't help but add to your collection.
It's believed that perhaps 65 million years ago, lots of silica was released into a solution which filled cracks in the rocks, layers in clay, and even some fossils. Some of them became precious opals.
Opals look amazing and are constantly changing and only when you see them on will you appreciate their true beauty.
Perfect as promise rings to give to your significant other. Or, just as a thank you to yourself!
