A Million Flowers
A Million Flowers
Ever wondered how the universe began! I think it was right here in this spectacular Boulder Opal. There is literally an explosion going on. This is quite a rare find for a rock cutter.
It’s one of my best dark Boulder Opals.
This is from my private stock and I am so pleased to be able to share my love of Opal with you in this gorgeous design.
I’ve set the Boulder Opal in 14k yellow gold on a smooth half round band with an open back.
I can see this as someones special engagement ring, can't you!
The bezel is contoured to follow the flow of the Opal as it undulates.
The band is curved and designed to sit so comfortably on your finger and not roll around. I have crafted the Opal to sit on top of the band to allow for a wedding band or stacking bands to sit snuggly up against it.
Ring weighs: 3.558 grams
TCW: 4
Size: 6 or L 1/2 and ready to go.
Size of face: 13mm x 14mm x4mm
This cannot be sized up or down.
Australian Boulder Opal was formed over 65 million years ago when water in the form of gem silica formed in the cracks and seams of iron stone and sand stone rock, creating the incredible Opal colour displays you see today. Boulder Opal is located and mined in outback Queensland. Australian Opal is by far the best in the world, no kidding!
I hand cut and polished all my Opals. Please be aware that these Opals may have natural pits and markings. They are as nature intended, I have only cut, shaped and polished, I have not even tried to remove any imperfections.
If you've never had a little bit of Australia how better to start than with a collectible piece. Or you may be in love with Opals like me and can't help but add to your collection.
*all photos are taken by me on my iPhone. Sunlight and direct light is the best way to see the beauty and intensity of colour in an Opal.
